Measure
Defined request timing, status, throughput, and endpoint dimensions.

// DEVELOPER TOOL
A compact monitoring workspace for understanding API latency, errors, throughput, and request behavior.
API Observatory is an engineering dashboard concept focused on exposing measurements without burying them behind a complicated monitoring stack. It presents request timing, status distributions, endpoint behavior, and historical comparisons.
The project focuses on making API behavior visible with a small number of useful measurements. The interface is intentionally dense but structured around the questions engineers ask during debugging.
“Observability starts with measurements people can reason about.”
Raw logs are difficult to compare.
Latency distributions matter more than a single average.
Endpoint failures can hide inside aggregate numbers.
Monitoring interfaces can become more complex than the systems they observe.

“The strongest result is a system that remains understandable after the first release.”
Add request correlation across services.
Introduce threshold-based operational signals.
Expand long-term performance comparisons.
The next stage is deliberately defined as a set of measurable product and engineering questions rather than a promise to add features indefinitely.
